Stephen J. Mellor
Stephen J Mellor is an independent teacher and consultant focussed on methods for the construction of real-time and embedded systems. He is the author of Structured Development for Real-Time Systems (way back in 1985), Object Lifecycles, Executable UML, and MDA Distilled. He participates in multiple UML/modeling related activities at the Object Management Group, and was a member of the OMG's Architecture Board, which is the final technical gateway for all OMG standards. Mr Mellor was the Chairman of the Advisory Board to IEEE Software for ten years.
Leon Starr has been developing real-time and embedded software with executable models since 1984 when he began working with Steve Mellor and Sally Shlaer. His models have been used in factory material transport control systems, ultrasound diagnostic and cardiac pacing systems, gas chromatography and semiconductor wafer inspection systems, video post-production systems, and networked military battle simulators. Leon is the author of "Executable UML: How to Build Class Models", "Executable UML: A Case Study" and "How to Build Shlaer-Mellor Object Models".
Andrew Mangogna has been developing real-time and embedded systems since 1980. He has indepth Unix/Linux systems programming skill and programs extensively in C, C++, and Tcl/Tk. Notable accomplishments include: the design and development of a model compiler and architecture that translates Executable UML directly to platform specific assembly language, an extensive in-memory relational database extension (TclRAL) to the Tcl language, and a variety of Tcl Tools for the ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller. He teaches architecture and model compiler design.
Simon Wright has more than 25 years’ experience as a systems and software engineering professional. Simon held a series of consultancy, project management and team leader positions, most notably with Marconi and Integrated Chipware. At IC he had the responsibility to deliver requirements engineering solutions, providing resources, training and support to our clients whilst achieving acceptance of the delivered solution. Simon can recommend, procure, install and configure a complete requirements engineering solutions and in addition, supply all important process documentation that makes the whole thing work.
